I'm sorry your baby has separation anxiety

My miniature schnauzer had separation anxiety when we would leave as well. But she would get destructive; she DESTROYED a HUGE calculus book. Well, I have always been the "anti crate" kind of person, but had no choice with her. So we started putting her in a cage-like crate with my yorkie whenever we'd leave. She was almost IMMEDIATELY better! She LOVES her "cagey" and happily goes in there when told to. She also happily sleeps in there whenever I need to leave her with my parents (she normally sleeps with us in bed).

I now understand that dogs really do see a crate as a "safe place". Oh, and I'm sure giving her a treat every time she went in the crate before we left helped
