teacup Yorkie and reaction! I had my rescued 8 1/12 year old neutered male teacup Yorkie get his Rabies shot at a local Rabies clinic given by our vet yesterday morning. I was told what symptoms to watch out for in case he might have a reaction. Surprise! He was very lethargic, yesterday afternoon and early evening he threw up. I called the vet and was told to give him 1/4 of a 12.5mg Children's Benadryl tablet once every 4 hours and get him to drink, and that this should help him out. I did this, but he didn't want any water. I stayed close to him and he has now had 3 1/4 pieces of the Benadryl and he took a huge drink of water this morning (AND ate most of his breakfast). He's still very lethargic, but he looks up at me a lot now and he also wants to potty when needed. I absolutely LOVE this dog and don't want him sick like this!!!!!! Before he was rescued, a man had kicked him and broken his hips with no medical help for him. I've checked with my vet and he's doing very well now and to leave that issue alone. Okay, but how do I take care of my baby, now that he's having this reaction? He only weighs 3.1 pounds! Help! |
