Hi,
My name is Jessica, and I started posting to this site a few weeks ago while looking for a little puppy. I was really shocked to find a beautiful baby girl who I named Princess Lilly Bear. I had been wanting a Yorkie for a long time, but when I became active in locating one, I was happily surprised to find Lilly in just a few months. When I actually did find her, her breeder (Lacie) was kind enough to meet me half way. Otherwise the trip would have been several hundred miles. I had gotten pictures of the parents and of the pups already. My husband said I better take money because she would be expecting me to make a purchase after coming all that way.
I had not planned to make a purchase that day, but after seeing Lilly Bear and the rest of the family, (Lacie brought Dad, brother, and 3 other pups from her clan), I decided I had to have her. Imagine my surprise when Lacie said she had not thought I would buy the puppy that day. I had no cash and she had no papers. I guess there must have been some instant Karma, because she let me take the puppy home with only a deposit, and I trusted that she would have papers forthcoming. Of course I had that slightly sick feeling after we were on our way home. I had never met Lacie before and had no real reason to put that much trust in her. On the other hand, if this pup was really worth that much then she had really put alot of trust in me. I decided to have faith and just enjoy my puppy.
Great news! Both Lacie and I are decent human beings and I have gotten Lilly Bear's AKC papers and she has gotten the balance due for the pup. Now I would not ever advocate taking this kind of leap of faith with a total stranger, but sometimes we are trusting to someone who actually deserves our trust and boy is that a great feeling. Anyways, Lilly is now home and all 1 pound 7 ounces of her is ruling the roost. We have started litter box training with the Purina Secondnature system and things are going great. I will have better pictures in the future. I really want to say thanks to all the people on this site that were encouraging while I was looking for a pup. I have talked to a few on the phone, and I can tell you that most Yorkie people are really great caring people. Well, just wanted to share my happiness!!
