You can delete a previously posted message on a profile page, but not a thread on the regular forum, you have to ask a moderator or admin to do that, but they probably won't do it unless there are extenuating circumstances. You have five minutes to edit your threads in the regular forum, after that, you can't edit. Any picture that you put as an attachment in the regular forum, can't be deleted, except during this first five minutes. Photos from your albums on your profile page, can be deleted whenever you wish by opening an album, and on the top right hand side, you should see the words "Edit Pictures", you can delete one or several pictures from an album if you choose this feature. You can also select a picture one at a time, click on it and select "edit" and delete a picture that way too.
