Six months after I graduated High School I moved to Germany for four years while my ex-husband was in the Army. I have always been an independant person so I don't know if that helped or not. I loved living in Germany but I still missed everyone being THAT far away. When we moved back home we moved back around our family more out of the fact we had nowhere else to go at the time. I would like to live about 2-3 hours away from family members. That's close enough to visit but far enough away that there is some space. lol
If I were young and without kids I would move away. Right now it looks like I won't get any further away than we are. (The in-laws live across the road and my parents are about a 8 minute drive.) Your young... I say go for it. You will either love it or hate it. The good news is if you hate it you can always move back. |
