Alot of puppy's don't like the beginning of 'leash training', and it can be very difficult....especially when, once you get the leash on them, they lay down and start biting it.
First of all:
You need to get him familiar with the leash.
Sit on the floor with him and hold it up, showing it to him, let him smell it. For every minute he's calm, give him a treat. Try to familiarize him with it throughout the day
without trying to put it on him. If he does begin to growl, just put it away for a few minutes, but do not aknowledge him growling or biting at it. Just ignore that, get up, and walk away from him for a minute. Once he's calm, give him a treat and start again.
Once he can be calm around the leash, and you can hold it up and drag it over his back without any growling, try leashing it.
It's very important to have him leash trained. And DO NOT hold him down while trying to do this. You can make him "okay" with having the leash on, without forcing him!!!!!!!
Just remember to give him treats and LOTS of praise!
Hope this helps you!
Good Luck to you.
