Squirt, my older one, never was a snuggler or a lap dog. He did love playing with the kids, & always tried to be in the center of their activities. I viewed him as Pinocchio like.
Gus, my younger one, is a couch potato, snuggler & a lap dog.
So, I think it depends on the dog, or maybe the younger generation are snugglers.
