Nemo was doing the same thing about a week after I got him. I immediately got online and read everything and suspected the worse..but when I took him to the vet he got a vaccine for Kennel Cough and now his cough is down to when he gets excited or he eats funky stuff off the floor (he's a garbage disposal!). My vet (who owns 3 Yorkies...I totally scored with getting a vet!) felt his trachea and said its a little flimsy like Yorkies are known to have but he hasn't really had a problem with it thank goodness.
