I bought 2 female Yorkies about 15 years ago for $100.00 they were 3lbs & 4lbs. I never owned a dog in my life before the 2. I fell in love the minute I saw them. The guy told me that his children were not nice to the dogs and he had to get rid of them. It was the first time I ever saw a Yorkie, they are the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. My sister took the one that weighed 3 lbs and I took the one that weighed 4lbs. After 9 years went by she developed a tiny lump under her arm, I took her to the vet and he said that it was nothing. After a few months went by the lump seemed to have gotten bigger and it seemed to hurt her when I touched it, I took her back to the vet and he said they will operate, we scheduled the operation and after the operation my baby (Pebbles) lasted only 2 weeks. I cried like never before. She was the most devoted dog I have ever known. She waited for me to get home from work to pass I will never forget that look on her face when she took her last breath as if saying, "I am glad you are here." I did not think of getting another dog till 2 years ago. I went to Florida bought a house and said to myself I am definately missing something. I thought a dog! I searched throught the ads on the paper and found 1 breeder that had just one puppy left. I went to see the puppy, she was the cutest little teddy bear in the world. He had a home full of Yorkies, that were amazing. He sold me the puppy for $600.00 maybe he liked the way I played with all his dogs and he knew I was going to be a great mommy. But today Rosie is 2yrs old and she just had a litter of 2 three mths ago. I love her to death and I had to keep another. I also got a mixed terrier who is about 25lbs and he is absolutely wonderful. Do not listen to what people say I would have paid more for such a beautiful breed. Enjoy her and love her forever. Sorry for the long post.
