It sounds like a Vet error from the guy that did the original surgery. He did not put adequate sutures inside your little guy. So, if there is any fault it lies with him. I would tell him that you do expect the cost relating to this repair to be handled at his expense. Vets will talk and he probably wont even be required to pay the other vet......it will be a write off probably between the two of them, but regardless...you should not have to incur this huge bill based on negligence......

If that does not work, well.......I would then seek advice from an attorney.
