Hi, I live on St. John. I would recommend it over St. Thomas, but maybe I'm partial.
St. John is small, laid back, and the beaches are beautiful. I have a friend that works at the Westin, and she said they have been giving really good discounts since it has been a slow season. St. John does not have a lot of hotels, but villa rentals are really popular. I also heard that they are offering deep discounts. I hope this helps, just let me know if you have any more questions.
