It looked terrible. So about 3 years ago we ripped all that hardwood out and installed the interlocking laminate. Wow I love, love it. Doesn't scratch has held up with Izzy and it's funny - when she gets the zoomies with the cats she has learned to take her corners very well and not slide into anything. It's funny to see how fast they adapt to the floor.
Hahaha....no pee problems but I have one throw rug by our front door..and wham..that's Izzy's fav if I don't catch her by the patio door to go outside.
Oh and cleaning is sooo easy with the laminate - get your Swiffer Wet Jet and that's all you need. Or if you want to go natural - your water and vinegar solution works. | We actually have hardwood in the Living Room, Tile in the Kitchen and Carpet in the Family Room. The hardwood hasn't held up well at all, you can see every water spot and scratches. Although we clean up accidents right away, you could still see the spot on the hardwood floor.
So I am hoping Laminate will be a much better experience. I do know it doesn't scratch as easily as the guy at Lowes took a knife to one to show me how it holds up to scratching and I was pretty impressed. Quote:

The cheap stuff does not install easily - even though it says simple snap and lock. Although it cleans well, it siply doesn't fit together like a higher end brand does, so wetness will seep into the cracks. It is very slippery as well - even for humans with socks on!!!!!!
Both floors are very easily cleaned with my Shark steam mop. I don't like usually chemicals of any kind and the floors are almost dry when I'm done with them. |
We saw a few of the cheaper brands that we liked but we figured to go with the Pergo as the guarantee is much longer and is suppose to hold up better. Looks like that was a good decision!! |
