It might be a callapsed tranchea. I remember my Bella was doing some sort of honking for months and after giving her so much meds it continued and the vet said it might be a callapsed tranchea. $700 later, it stopped on it's own. The only thing was, she was only doing this at night til morning and I did a lot of research on callapsed tranchea which says the honking happens when the puppy is active. You might check into it but it can always be something else..I'm not an expert
