| Protecting or Over Protective??? I can't tell you how much this site means to me...As a new yorkie owner, I've asked a gazillion questions, and have always gotten so many good answers...Here's probably one of the most important questions I've ever asked... I have a nice big back yard w/a 6 1/2 ' cedar fence...I've gotten past my fear of hawks (although I do, occasionally, see one, and grab my Apple up and into the house), but I'm still all worried about her picking up every single little stick, pebble and leaf and chewing it up...Unless I'm playing ball w/her, I worry about her grabbing anything and everything in site...Now my back yard is a clean one, w/no poisonous plants, bits of metal, etc. etc. etc., but there is a pine tree in the neighbor's yard, and, it seems that birds drop pebbles (?) acorns (?) in the yard, and I just worry about everything that goes into her mouth...Subsequently, I don't spend as much time in the back yard, as I would, if I weren't worrying about her...Should I let her chew (and I'm sure swallow) these little bits of twigs, etc., or what??? I think she's missing out on some good times, fresh air, and exercise because of my fears...Feed-back much appreciated... Love, Maggie & Apple xoxoxox |
