We have Pergo in our living room and a very inexpensive wood looking laminate from Ikea in our office and spare bedroom. What a world of difference between the two. The Pergo installs pretty easily. Our is not sealed and we have had no issues with cleaning up the occasional pee spot with a Fantanstic-like solution. The girls do not slip on this at all.
The cheap stuff does not install easily - even though it says simple snap and lock. Although it cleans well, it siply doesn't fit together like a higher end brand does, so wetness will seep into the cracks. It is very slippery as well - even for humans with socks on!!!!!!
Both floors are very easily cleaned with my Shark steam mop. I don't like usually chemicals of any kind and the floors are almost dry when I'm done with them.
