Females will mark when in heat to leave scent marks for other males...getting her spayed before her 2nd heat will slightly reduce the chance of mammary cancer. After the 3rd or 4th, those chances increase. Spaying before the 1st heat will eliminate mammary cancer. 'Humping our cat' ...too funny, usually it's a dominance thing.
