there are a few different ways to fix LPs but it depends on what the vet finds once he gets in there. sometimes they just deepen the groove and tighten the ligaments. sometimes they need to cut the bone and move it. and sometimes its not they have to put fishing line in too to replace any torn ligaments. So its not that one way is better then the other. It all depends on what exactly is wrong with the dogs stifle, patella, and cranial cruciate ligament.
I'm glad to hear that Hot Rod is doing better today, though i did cringe when you said you bathed him. He shouldn't be bathed until his sutures are removed or dissolve. yes that makes a smelly dog but you can use baby wipes or dry shampoo. there is too great a risk for slippage in the tub and a greater chance of infection.
