However, during surgery, the Dr. felt that the way Roxy's legs were, that just deepening the groove and tightening the ligaments that she would do fine....Well, I was a little upset, but ok, that was her judgement. BUT at the 6 week checkup her left leg was luxating again, so back for surgery this time to do the cut and pin. And around the 6 month mark, her right leg was luxating again...

I am not saying all this to scare or freak you, but this is what happened to us, so I just wanted to share
Prior to surgery, the dr explained each of the 3 different reasons for lp. Hot Rod's leg was bowing since the knee was not positioned correctly. As for the 2 other types of lp he did not see any occurence of those types of scenarios. I guess that the severity of his knee cap groove, or lack of was what was causing the issue. The dr never stated which treatment he was going to do, he wanted to go in and see just how much damage there was first. Hot Rod is only 19 mos. I don't know if this has anything to do with healing but he did say that he was young. I'm sorry to hear that poor Roxy had to endure this a 2nd time. What will they do now? Will she have to have surgery again? How old is Roxy?
