This sounds just like my Lucy (10 months) ... everything is a new sniff ... everywhere ... constantly! However, we've managed to train her to 'sit' and 'wait', etc., successfully. It was a bit of a challenge, as we've trained her to both verbal and hand signals - and the hand sginals won't work if she's not watching! So we developed a key phrase: 'Lucy, watch me!" - and with persistence, it's worked well. We can now walk along a street and have her sit and wait at every kerb and roadside, as we direct her attention to us just in advance of giving a 'sit' or 'wait' command.
As for grooming, her first session was a bit chaotic for the groomer, but when she went back the second time, she was as good as gold and came back beautifully groomed (including her face). Hope this helps? |
