There is no official theme for this GE, though if you want to give your Secret Buddy winter-related items, that is fine.

PLEASE NOTE THE BELOW if your Secret Buddy lives in Canada or the United Kingdom or overseas:

We suggest you use the US Postal Service to mail to Canada or a non-USA address (as UPS and Fedex charges additional fees).

Also, please note to mark your item as a gift, and please do not claim it as more than $50, otherwise your Secret Buddy will have to pay import taxes on it. If you have any questions about this, please contact us. Thank you!

Please read the links below if your Secret Buddy lives in Canada:

Please note in order to participate:

- You are a Donating Member of YorkieTalk.

- You have 100 or more posts here at YorkieTalk (before you sign up in this thread).

- You joined YorkieTalk before March 1, 2009.

- Please do NOT send your Secret Buddy any USED toys or clothes. Re-gifting a new item you may have received is fine, but any USED items are not allowed.

YorkieTalk Gift Exchange XVI Signup

Please make sure you have read the Gift Exchange Rules and Regulations thread as well as the Gift Exchange FAQ before you sign up!

Please do not sign up unless you are currently a Donating Member.

Please note that the spending minimum is $20 for your Gift Exchange gift (this does not include shipping), though if you choose to spend more on your Secret Buddy, you may. Please do not expect anything more.

Here is the Gift Exchange Rules and Regulations thread. Please read it again, as there have been some changes to the rules since the last Gift Exchange. We now require all participants to be Donating Members (members that have donated $25 or more). If you are ALREADY currently a Donating Member (your usertitle shows Donating Member), this does not apply to you. We must receive your donation before you may sign up for this Gift Exchange.

Here is the Gift Exchange FAQ thread.

Please note that you MAY receive a secret buddy in Canada (if you are in the US), and you MAY receive a secret buddy in the US (if you are in Canada). Be prepared to pay a few dollars more in shipping costs if this is the case. If you receive a secret buddy in Europe or overseas, there will be extra shipping costs, thus you will be reimbursed roughly $19 for the extra shipping. We will reimburse you via Paypal or cashier's check after the recipient receives their gift. Also, to save on shipping costs, you may want to keep the package "lighter".

This thread is ONLY for signups. Do not post any questions or anything else besides sign up in this thread. Please PM us if you have any questions.

You must already have your Yorkie (if you are a new Yorkie parent) by April 1, 2009 to participate in this Gift Exchange.

The signup period will end April 30, 2009. You will receive your Secret Buddy information within THREE DAYS after the end of the signup period. If for some reason you sign up and can not participate in this Gift Exchange, you MUST notify us before the end of the signup period.

You may send gifts starting May 1, 2009. The deadline for sending out gifts will be May 31, 2009.

Have a GREAT Gift Exchange everyone! Enjoy shopping!

Admin I wanted to add since I am Canadian and I had this happen to me . please let me say.. if you spend 50, just put the parcel is worth 20-25 dollars then it goes right to your buddies house.. other wise large duty.. all us Canadians are aware of prices on dog things/stuff and we do NOT look at what is on the customs slip .. we are generally far too excited we just got the parcel with no extra hassle...for we know pricing believe me... it is so nice we get our parcel with no problems..
Not sure who knows this.. but we pay far more for Canadian clothing for dogs in our dog stores.. so since we did well for our buddie, it is so very nice not to go through any of the extra to get our parcel..(speaking from experience.)
I signed up for one gift exchange, recieved my parcel.. it came in a small box and the amount for two toys ( a kong toy and a pack of tiny lates squeekies) was put down at 23.00 and getting 4 things in a small box the value was put at 68.00 so I had to pay 25.00.. thank god my parcels came in three separate parcels one from a sellers with no problems, or I would have had to just say send them back for this gets far too expensive. Remember we Canadians pay far more for what we buy for doggie things then they sell for in the States..( I shop for my furbutts like crazin while in florida for the winter..
It was extremely disappointing to me and sure put a damper on my excitement over signing up...
So it is really important people do not add to the price of something.. thinking it looks better for there buddie.. if we sign up.. we generally dress out dogs and buy toys blankets and beds and we are are aware of pricing.. you buy a tshirt for 3.00 and it was regular 20 we see that you put 3.00 for it's price.. believe me we know you did not pay that and we look at the value of the item, not what you paid for it...
[B]Again the Canadian's know prices.. so putting a smaller amount on the customs package does not mean we look at our buddie like they did not spend the amount or are cheap..

If anyone has questions.... just ask.. for I was so disappionted when this happened to me... so I do not do summer ones anymore due to this reason.. and it is too bad I have to bow out all summer...I hope this helps the person who gets a Canadian and has to ship to Canada..anne

I have not signed up since then.. it was a first.. buddy did not know how to do it.. and due to not asking questions I was the one who had to pay.. it sure took away the joy that day ...
If anyone has a question.. I would be more then happy to help them out when sending a parcel to canada..

Please know I am only trying to help others.. for my buddie really felt bad this happened for she did NOT know how to do it.. askanne
