I would buy the xpen too! Especially that your going to be returning to work . When Suzi was a young puppy I would always sits down on the floor or carpet and play with her. And remember to puppy proof your home. these little babies can get themselves into a whole heap of trouble. Suzi still loves to find tissues, and her favorite is to take them out of people's pockets!. Yep! She is something else! As soon as somebody sits down, she is in your pocket, and off she goes with your kleenix! Than , as soon as you go pick it up from her, she will run off with it! She's quite a stinker, and is over a yr old!
As a pup she did chew up my laptop cord too, and it was over a $100 to replace.

Hard lessons to learn! What I have observed from Suzi, is that she plays hard, but then she will sleep hard too. Becasue she wears herself out. Let her get all her energy out the right way safely, then your puppy will want to take a nap.
I would not allow your puppy on the couch . Is she able to jump on the couch by herself? If not, than she needs to be off . For safety reasons. When she is big enough to jump up on her own and to jump off on her own then it is safe enough for her to be on the couch. Before then, imo, i would refrain from allowing such a little puppy from the couch. It is too risky. Your little one could be easily hurt with as much energy as she has and as daring as she is, It really is better to wait until she is bigger to jump on the couch herself . To adoid serious injury to your precious baby.
