You have to watch her all the time if she is "exploring", especially in the puppy stages. I watch Abby all the time. She does let me know when she has to go out but she still has accidents. I don't let her have free roam of the house. I have areas gated off where she isn't allowed to go. When I go in to take a shower, I put her in her crate. Same thing goes if I'm out in the kitchen making something to eat. She is still a puppy and likes to get into things.
