My Bailey is just way too energetic and brave for her own good. She's not even 11 weeks and under 2 pounds. I haven't even had her for a week but I'm currently crying because all the frustration is catching up to me. She has nearly stopped my heart 3 times tonight. I'm just scared for her own safety!
My favorite times with Bailey are when I am on the couch watching tv and she's sleeping in my lap or just relaxing with a chew toy. But she always scares me when she gets a little more adventurous and acts like she's going to jump off the couch. And today she just learned to jump onto the arm of the couch and then walk across the back. It freaks me out because I think she'll fall.

Then a second ago she JUMPED from the arm of the couch to a nearby chair. She landed on some pillows on the chair and I ran and grabbed her. Then she actually did kind of try to jump off the couch to the floor but really just seemed to fall.
So finally I decided I better just sit with her on the floor, but she went crazy running around and ran into a lamp cord and kept running, almost choking herself AND pulling the lamp down at once! I think all those close calls finally tired her out too because now she's sleeping on my lap.
WHAT do I do to keep her from trying these kinds of things and hurting herself? Don't allow her on the couch at all? Shake a can with pennies when she's about to jump to scare her? Get an exercise pen and just keep her in that? (Do those have bottoms?) Please help I don't want my baby to get hurt.
