So my question is do you think I should start looking for something else? It seems to me like he is telling me that he does not care for his new food?

well first off WELCOME to Yorkie Talk- Bernie is SOOO cute!!!
This is odd because USUALLY pups pick out all of the new food first and then if they are hungry will eventually eat the old stuff which can make the gradual switch a bit difficult. He could be telling you he is not liking it. If you are set on feeding him Wellness just try a different variety. If he does the same thing- then just keep on making the switch and he'll adjust to the new food eventually
