It's a combination of both. Keep an eye on the surgical site to make sure it is free of infection. The anesthesia takes away their appetite and even causes depression. Well, in all reality, if you just had your ornaments removed, you'd be depressed, too. His little body is going through some changes right now, but he will be back to normal. Just keep an eye on him. Any gross abnormalities other than the norm, contact your vet. I hope this helps. Mine is going under the knife on April 24th. I'm hoping this will deter him from trying to mate with everything in the house...including the couch pillows...
