Oh, and just an idea...if you want to extend the time it takes to go through a refill, you could always just throw a couple (not-so-soiled) pads in the kitchen. I think 1-3 pads in the kitchener wouldn't smell too bad. Sometimes (if I'm not too lazy lol), I'll throw out the pad in the garbage bin in the garage right away. This kind of helps to extend the time between refills
