I use a kitchen garbage can with a top, it is in my laundry room that is in the basement but you can't smell them until you take the top off to wash. I wash about every 3 days, sometimes a little longer. (I used that same kitchen garbage can as a diaper pail for cloth baby diapers too).. no reason to buy something that is more $$ just because it is called a diaper pail
