I am SO sorry to read about your loss. Some people just don't understand when I try to tell them how fragile these little dogs can be but this just proves that a freak accident can happen in a a second. I'm not an "overprotective mommy" and Tatum is quite the rough and tumble type (at 6 lbs) but I still cringe when someone picks her up and is not paying total attention to her wiggling. I would be devastated also.... my heart goes out to you.
As for the new addition, I personally did get Tatum about 2 weeks after the passing of my 15 year old toy poodle. It really did help heal my heart. But every person is different in how they deal with this grief. Good luck and all the best to you.
