Just to say that "Tough Love" is the only way to go. We have been through & still going thru this with one of ours. You can always be there for them with love, but there comes a time when you have to draw the line. It tugged at my heart when you said that you hadn't heard from him after his release but know that he will call when he needs something. We learned too well to dread that late night early am phone calls. Yes, we left them in there, hoping it would teach them a lesson. I truly believe I have the most hard headed crew!!! My brother who is 54 is a recovering crack addict told me recently that no one can help you until you want to help yourself. My late mother continued until her last days bailing my brother out of one jam after another. The who time we all tried to help her understand that she was actually helping my brothers addiction problem to continue. I pray that all of you get through this trial and he comprehends the pain & anguish that he is bestowing on you. |
