As distasteful as you may find that ad....there is nothing illegal about bartering.
Frankly I don't see where the buyer even has a court case and suspect there's an expensive lesson. Caveat Emptor. The original ad for the dog...plainly stated she was aggressive. The buyer assumed the responsibility.
