Some reputable breeders kennel their Yorkies outside of the house and some may even breed til 8 years old but I personally would choose another breeder. Yorkies are people dogs and should be around them constantly. If they live in their own building, I doubt too much playing and interaction is going on. I could be wrong but I would keep looking.
Oh and the part about the only genetic problems they've had are those that are common in the breed. It seems like they listed luxating patella as an example which is present in most lines but I just wonder if their dogs have more problems that are present in the breed...
