It's very uncommon so try not to worry, but I do knowxsome dogs have died under anaesthesia even with normal bloodwork and being seemingly healthy. I know some can be allergic to the anaesthesia and I don't know if there is any way to know that beforehand, but again it's not common. The other thing I wonder about those who have died is if something was actually wrong with their heart. Hardly anyone does an EKG beforehand and I wonder if that would have caught heart issues and saved some that have died. I guess we will never know in most cases. I did hear of one necropsied that did end up having abnormally small heart and lungs and they didn't know beforehand.
Most likely your baby will be just fine. I know it's impossible not to worry though.
