I always call my vet about everything, and he can tell me exactly what to look for if things go wrong. This hasn't happened to me, but I read of another dog swallowing an earring, and she was told many things including giving a tablespoon of canned pumpkin at each meal. Since he's a little bigger, the intestines will be bigger and it's not as apt to cause a blockage, but you should look for symptoms of an obstruction including vomiting, loss of appetite, and no pooping. This means an obstruction could be present, and you should see a vet immediately. Put his poop in a small baggie over the next few days, and squish it to help in finding your pearl. By the way, don't induce vomiting; this could cause choking. You should be able to find it, some time between 12 hours and 5 days. Good luck!
