Default Vaccinations, yes or no?

I'm sure there have been several threads like this, and if there are any recent ones please forgive me!

Its about time for Xavier to have his yearly shots, and I'm torn about it. I've read several places that vets use the same dosage for 3 lb. dogs as they do for 100+ lb. dogs. This is disturbing to me. When we first got Xavier; I remember he had a few health problems it seemed. After posting here, the general thought was that he had been over-vaccinated.

Now, I'm afraid to have him vaccinated at all. Personally, I don't even get vaccinated unless its 100% essential. I'm just not a fan of putting a form of poison into my body for no apparent reason. But what do you guys think? I know the rabies vaccine is a law, but what about the optional ones?

Thanks in advance
