I live in a neighborhood full of kids. I just tell them to step back because my girls are afraid of little kids. Some will ask me everyday, "Are they still afraid of me?" I tell yes and I'm sorry. They understand more than you think. Remember those kids are someone's "babies" , just like our yorkies are our babies.
