I am not saying to replace or return him.. What I am saying is that if he came from a breeder, you should have some sort of health guarantee, so I would look into that, as the breeder may refund you the purchase price to help offset the surgery bill. If he came from a Petstore, the same would be true. I am just saying that you may be entitled to get money back that would help you pay for his surgery.

I don't know how far you are in Ohio - but I would check out the University of Tenn Vet Teaching Hospital (Dr. Dobias) and/or Cornell University (upstate NY) - They are both pretty reasonable in surgery costs, lots of Yorkies here have had the surgery there with great success.
