I think it's hard to really determine what color coat a pup will turn out to be
as an adult unless your go way back into the line to make sure all parents,
grandparents etc has black and gold coats. Most, to my knowledge, will
turn silver, the preferred adult coat.
I'm like you. I love the black and gold.
Buddy is black and gold at 5yrs old but when his coat is allowed to grow
he will turn silver with gold streaks, however, his roots are always jet
black. I just groomed him down and he's black once again.
Buying a puppy because he's black and gold won't guarantee his adult
coat will be that color. Buy your puppy because you have a connection
with him. When he grow's you won't care what color he is. I am willing
to bet you on that.
