Take into consideration the standard size for a lhasa is 14 - 18 pounds...much larger than a yorkie.
I never feed any of my puppies...puppy formula food. It's fine to switch him over now as you're right...it's a higher calorie formula and if he doesn't expend all those calories...it will end up as fat.
