Sounds like it could be lots of things like ringworm or leather ear. Please also check out information on something not very common called Ischemic Dermatopathy, Cutaneous Vasculitis. (What Piccolo has....) It can look raised in the ear, black, or scabby. (This can be caused by vaccinations.)
