I know about the panic...I was at a friend's house, and noticed Apple was not running all about...I started looking and calling and running around like mad...My friend kept saying there's no way she could have gotten out...After about 10 minutes of sheer panic, we found her in the pantry...And it was ME that had opened the door to get a paper-towel! She never barked, whined, or let us know she was in there lol...But, yeah, took 10 of me too, and I don't have any extra years to spare lol...
