i also read that homecooking can cause dogs to be overweight and they might not be getting the right amount of nutrients.
i want what's best for my yorkies. can anyone shed some light on this subject? |
It's all about what's right for *your* dog. Homecooking is wonderful, but must be done properly for the health of your dog. A homecooked meal must for formulated by a nutritionist with a vitamin/mineral supplement designed for homecooking. The calcium/phosphorus ratios MUST be appropriate and cannot be maintained without proper supplementation.
There are several good, balanced kibbles out there. If going with kibble, you must do your research and feel comfortable with the company, due to the recent problems with recalls and deaths associated with toxins and other problems due to kibble.
