I also have a beautiful Yorkie to which I can bathe her and she loves to go onto the porch with me to sit in the swing, and after I have just bathed her, she has this musky odor like an old dog to whom has been outside for months and has gotten wet. When she is in the house she doesn't have this smell. I dunno what is causing it. It doesn't matter if it is hot, ice cold, or warm outside, she still gives off this odor. One thing I have founf that does help is, as soon as she comes back into the house, take a new dryer sheet and rub onto her hair and it stops the odor for a short while. Like you I am also stumped at this delema.
