I thought I should clarify my concern about the vet visit and the weight. All of the breeder contracts I have signed give 1 week to have the animal examined by a vet of my choice and return it if the baby did not check out health wise. If you don't know how much your baby weighs, and are not monitoring it, how do you know if it is losing weight vs. thriving? My point was more about my personal opinion on the importance of having my new babies examined within a week of getting them. Had I not done that with my Himalayan kitty, (and there was no breeder contract with him), I would not have known he was malnourished and would not have known what and when to feed him. I was told had I not gotten him and brought him to the vet when I did, he might not have made it. I guess I am extra sensitive as a result.
