As I am reading your post, I'm staring at Silvia sitting almost in my husband's face begging for food. He's telling her "NO" and moving his plate away, but she's just driving him nuts begging. Even though he has a deeper voice, when he tells her "NO" she doesn't listen to him. I'm sitting about ten feet away and I just told her "NO" and she jumped off the couch and climbed in bed with her head down.

We have this issue of not listening to "NO" constantly. She can get anything from her Daddy, but for some reason, she listens to me. I think it's because I scare her when I use my "angry voice", like a kid that believes you will spank them if they don't immediately stop what they're doing. I started it when she was a puppy. I can't really explain it, but it's a very deep, very serious voice, that most animals respond to.

What I would suggest is to try your different tones of voice out on her. There has to be one that she will react to, even if she pauses for a second, at least the behavior is stopped, and it will give you a chance to correct her. Try confining her to your lap of right in front of you and saying "NO" as firm as you can, until you find the tone of voice that she reacts almost scared to. THAT's the one you need to use.

Anyway, just my two cents. I've been very fortunate that Silvia was never a barker, and barking gets on my last nerve, so I feel for you. I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck!
