Sadly, they all contained fully formed and feathered chicks. They died with the temp. spike. We were all disappointed. Probably none more than my son. We went out that afternoon and got 2 hens and a rooster (teenagers as we called them :P) We named them Laverne, Shirley and Fonzie. Laverne was the last one living and sadly she just passed away this week. |
AWWW! What a bitter sweet story, I'm sorry this happened especially for your son. Luckily the incubator I'm looking at is fully automated-you set it to the species you are incubating and it sets the temp/humidity and turning all by itself

It even stops turning two days before they are due to hatch (as is required) If there are any problems it sounds an alarm and everything can also be set manually

It lets you know when the water needs topping up too! I just can't wait to get started, I wish I had had the money to get everything ready so the eggs were due to hatch at Easter but we had to wait til payday! Hopefully we will have chicks by the end of April! (quial eggs take approx 16-18 days to hatch)
