I wouldn't worry about it.
I met a lady at the vet's office the other day that had a HUGE yorkie. She told me that she spent a long time finding a breeder that had a puppy that would be big (and boy is he BIG, he is 20 pounds).
Some people want that. Sure, it's not the standard, but everyone has their own opinions. These new popular "designer breeds" - puggles, yorkiepoo, etc - are selling like crazy, and a lot of people look down on that because they aren't "pure bred" dogs.
Who cares? Love your pet! : ) Don't get worked up when people think they are somehow better than you because you don't have the "perfect" Yorkie - you have YOUR perfect Yorkie, and that's all that matters!
