You definately need to get your money back. Did you have a contract? What did it say about if the puppy died? Some have non-refundable deposits and have it in the contract that they can substitute from another litter. But I have never seen one that they can offer you only one puppy -- and one that certainly is not full yorkie to boot.
After you get your money back if that is poissible, I would immediately contact the AKC. This woman needs reported. There are going to be occasional yorkies that are purebred as far as the breeder knows, that do not meet all the standards. But when one pops up looking a whole lot more pom than yorkie and the lady breeds yorkies, then it is obvious the AKC needs to step in. They can revoke her ability to register with AKC. She will probably just go to CKC or one of the other registries (that is how most of them cropped up, to accomodate folks who were thrown out of AKC). But at least she will not dupe people with the AKC purebred status.
What is wrong with people lately? I can't understand breeders not having a conscience.
