Please see my post on how rubbing coconut oil into their fur kills the fleas. It truly works instantly and is good for several days and my Yorkies love it. It heals the sores caused by the fleas,soothes the animal,stops the knitting,and best of all it doesn't poison.One of my babies cannot stand to be bitten by a flea and will make herself bloody knitting and scratching the area where she is bitten. The coconut oil seems to provide instant relief. It is said to break down the exoskeleton and suffocate the flea.
