Exclamation Premie Pup

Our female yorkie is 1 1/2 yrs old and just had her first litter. The first was born at home but we got her to our vet for the other two. Sadly, the 3rd was still born. The second had a cleft pallet and died within 12 hours. The firstborn is struggling to latch onto the teat. Our vet has advised us of the slim percentages of survival since it was premature yet our little boy is trying hard to live. What suggestions does anyone have on helping him make it thru these first few days and possibly making it in life. Also, the mother, LADY, acted strangely after the 2nd one died and we took it away. I understand it is probably instinct for her to smell around and search for the missing baby, but she was very cold toward the surviving baby for about an hour. Now she is again attentive and caring. If her last baby does pass on, what are the possible negative effects it can have on her? She was panting and breathing hard off and on after we took the other one away. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
