I had to uninstall that once, and had the same problems you described, there was a folder in "programs" with the Yahoo name, and in that folder was an "uninstall" icon. This was several years back. I've found that when installing new programs, or even updates, you have to read them carefully, because they automatically want to give you some new tool that isn't related to what your installing. A simple clearing of a "checked" box, can save you time in the future.
